I have been all about this song recently. I've been listening through The National's album High Violet and loving it.
I love the phrasing of the chorus melody. It is a nice melody but it also leaves a lot of space between words. I especially like the change of feel the second time through when he sings "buzz".
I like The National's sound because instrumentally it sounds like something I strive towards but vocally it is drastically different. Matt Berninger's deep, earthy voice is the opposite of mine and I learn a lot from the contrast. This is a great song and album - check it out.
