BEN NOBLE TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE "STEADY" ON AUGUST 10, 2019

Written in the midst of an unrelenting winter, Steady is steeped in imagery featuring winter winds and a place of longing for spring to come. Noble's own inner-winter was brought about as he began seeing a professional counselor to face demons that had plagued him his whole life. The re-opening of long-scabbed-over wounds mixed with intense writer's block caused Noble to experience episodes of sharp anxiety that kept him up at night. A miscarriage in the winter of 2018 is what finally drove Noble to write the lyrics for what would become Steady.

 

Inspired by Theodore Roethke's The Waking, Steady plays with the contrast of shaking and steadiness; hoping to come to a place of calm in the midst of chaos. It is the second single from his forthcoming record, with the first single "Night Wakes" released in March of 2019. The LP is on track to debut in the winter of 2020.
